I chose this 3 day assault pack from LA Police Gear. It is very roomy and has lots of pockets and storage compartments. In this bag I have just about everything except for food and water. I do have a 3L Platypus water bladder that I keep in my bag.
In my kit, I have:
- 3 changes of underwear
- 2 t-shirts
- 3 pair of socks
- 1 pair of pants
- 1 pocket chain saw
- 1 pack of water proof matches
- 1 lighter
- 2 water filters
- 3 fuel sources
- 2 magnesium firestarters
- 1 roll of duct tape
- 1 roll of TP
- 1 4oz baby powder
- Spare Water bottle
- Snake Bite Kit
- Shampoo
- Body Wash
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrush
- Towel
- Hiking Shoes
My bag is purposely not filled to capacity because I will pack my EDC Gear and bag into the 72 Hour Kit. This will allow me to keep both bags and only carry one. It means that I will have 2 water bottles and the water bladder. That gives me one ‘dirty bottle’ for collecting water to be filtered. I will be able to carry 4 liters of clean water then. This gives me everything I need to manage a crisis situation while I am out and about. I still need to decide what food I should pack. Being gluten free complicates things. I have options, they are just different and I need to think about and plan that out.
