My Girl Depression

Tuesday is depression day
it comes once a week & that’s all it stays.
Friends & I don’t feel grand,
What has happened to us in this
demented land.

I see her with that superficial
smile & I give one back
all the while – we
ride that day away.

Up & down lifes’ rollercoaster
it goes on our day of
depression.
We’re not out for fun –
Why? don’t know why
or do I?

Then I see her on another day;
when some of our problems have
faded away.
Hand in hand – we walk the
childhood land – dreaming that
is shot down by reality.

Why must our dreams be destroyed –
Why can’t reality be ignored?
Do we have to face a truth
that we dislike?
The pains of a growing up & society –
what is it –
I must see for me.
