i have walked the “Lonely Road”
and found my way back
only to find i knew the answers
already
. . .
can’t believe i died and couldn’t find
my black dinner jacket.
that was enraging
. . .
didn’t have my suit and tie
for my last dance;
ended up in Levi’s and jump boots.
—–
i laughed / it was funny,
i was the only one there
without it;
my Levi’s jacket with
Pins and Soda Tabs and Wings
had my white shirt and
Indians hat
. . .
what a beautiful ensemble.
—–
to bad i wasn’t going to
join the party,
decided to take that
walk-
and look where i ended up;
back here with the rest of
myself and everybody else.
how humorous y’all must’ve
thought that was.
i have walked the “Lonely Road”
and found my way back
only to find i didn’t have
my black dinner jacket.
wil becker
