Inventory your Disks

Reader technolust recently asked me how she could see what is on her flash drive. I asked don’t you know what you have saved there? Well, yeah, but that doesn’t mean I can visualize what I have taking up space. I had seen Disk Visualizers before and even tried them.

Since she asked, I looked these up for her.

Windows: WinDirStat

OS X: Disk Inventory X

see what you have stored.

Thanks! I really need this to figure out why I only have less than 12 GB left on my laptop’s 150 GB hard drive. I only have about 45 GB of music, less than 3 GB of pictures, and 4 GB of video. What’s taking up the other 86 GB? Dun dun dun! Find out next on “Those That Want, Get (eventually)”.
