Woman in Black

She stands there looking across the room,
and in the corner she sees someone . . .
There she sits in her corner kicked back
with all her boys & toys,
confident & in control
while total chaos reigns about her . . .
She stands in her petticoats &
ruffles, feeling ashamed of conformity
and the things she did in life;
beside her stands her husband,
angry with reality . . .

The woman in the corner stands
and tells her boys to stay,
she walks towards the couple of
proper suit . . .
She glances at her husband & then
back to her feet,
He laughs and moves in front of his
woman . . .
The woman in black & confidence
reaches through the husband,
& grabs the “petticoat”
and pulls her through him . . .
He stands in shock & stares at his
chest, he glances up to see the two
ladies become one,
Petticoats fall to the floor & they/she
bend over & scream in agony;
horror drew fire & rage into the man . . .

The women grab & clutch at tables
and chairs around them;
after a few moments, yet, before the
husband can react, they stop & a new
person is born . . .
Standing she shakes herself and
looks herself over;
black still covers her body,
her hair blacker than life & death . . .
he stood shocked & speechless . . .
She laughed & cast off all that
she had, her former husband turned & walked
defeated;
she had won the battle of self-control,
now she was all that she should
have been & is all that she can
be . . .

Years of searching & self wandering . . .
she’s content yet she’s disturbed
by those that “love her”
