Shadows fall upon a wall,
In a far land.
This wall divides a city,
That once was whole.
Barbed wire & guards watch over all
And the shadows fall upon that Wall;
They move around, looking for something ‑
Maybe peace ‑ it can’t be found.
The Westside is free & the Eastside is bound;
Do you see, what can it be?
And
Shadows fall upon a wall,
in a far away land.
This wall divides a city,
that once was whole.
Armed guards do the goosestep;
As people on that side hide in fear.
The government is harsh & unfair ‑
And the shadows shift on the Wall.
Shadows fall upon that Wall,
as it sits silently ‑
with its marks of paint.
It divides a city that’s
full of sorrow.
And the shadows shift & fall
upon that WALL.
