Last week [or the week before] on my way home with a co-worker we were trying to navigate the city and highways. I pulled out my Palm and learned that wap.google.com(1) is a working website and one can download Google Maps for their palm! I was very happy with this because when we are on the road I can check the traffic. I also have a handy map so that I can’t “get lost” – as long as I know where I am
This weekend, my wife and I met a friend for dinner and a movie, she wanted to double check directions back to her neck of the woods. In about 3 minutes I had our current location up and showed her how to get back to the Beltway. It was quite the empowering experience. Needless to say she was on her way and I was elated that my recent find worked to her advantage.
I am not sure how many different types of SmartPhones Google supports with their WAP(1) service, but I am glad they support the Treo!
