I really like this quote because I struggle with listening. I have had enough experience to know that if I take time and listen I will learn more about a situation or person. While I still struggle with this and fail from time to time; learning to listen has made a difference. The place that I have seen this most is with my sons. When I take time to listen when something is going on or one of the boys is speaking to me; I get a better understanding and can better handle the situation. My oldest is reading the Old Testament and after his evening reading he will ask questions … it not only allows me to have a conversation with him it allows us to build on our parent/child relationship.
