My EDC

I started a new job in 2008 and in the summer of 2009 we hired a new guy to our team – Diesel. Diesel lived near me and so we started commuting together. He is a big-time prepper and keeps a 3 day emergency kit in his car. Once we started commuting together he started teaching me about the importance of having supplies on hand in case of an emergency. It took Diesel about a year to get me fully on board with packing an EDC bag and it took me another year to get my bag and gear together. I use a Maxpedition Versipack for my EDC.

In my EDC, I have:

  1. 7 days of prescription meds
  2. A supply of Excedrin
  3. A supply of Tylenol
  4. A supply of Tums
  5. 1 head lamp
  6. 2 flashlights, a Coleman and a Blackhawk
  7. back up batteries for all lights
  8. Zaggsparq 6000, back up mobile phone battery pack
  9. a poncho
  10. a Plight of the Living IFAK from Chinook Medical
  11. a small pack of band-aids
  12. work gloves
  13. snake bite kit
  14. 10 wet wipes
  15. Baby Wipes, small pack
  16. Gerber Sport 400
  17. 50′ of Paracord
  18. a D Ring
  19. Power plugs and cables for my phone and Bluetooth ear buds
  20. Nail Cleaning Kit (tweezers, nail file, nail clippers, and cuticle cutter)
  21. a lighter
  22. waterproof matches
  23. and a Water Bottle
