The Linux Foundation receives additional strength

Canonical the creators of Ubuntu Linux have joined the Linux Foundation as a Silver Member. The purpose of the foundation is to promote standards and prevent fragmentation of the Linux platform. The main point is that major vendors and now a second Linux distributor has joined the group increasing it’s relevance and importance.

As a side note this is the group that employs Linus Torvalds, the man that started the kernel.
