New Blogroll Link for Security Monkey

Thursday, July 19th, 2007

In my surfing and wandering online, I have come across a new security blog called Security Monkey. *Cheif* is great, his blog and case studies are very funny and informative. He keeps his clients name safe but gives plenty of details about each case. I have really enjoyed reading his case studies and his blog posts. If you are interested in computer network or hard drive forensics this is a good place to read and learn.

New Security Catalyst NetCast - The Value of Fundamentals

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

I have been waiting months (since April) for Michael to release another NetCast from The Security Catalyst. This NetCast obviously focuses on Fundamentals (hehe - the title always gives it away). You can find it in iTunes or here. You can also find other great material on the Catalyst site.

Googla Maps on my Treo!

Monday, July 16th, 2007

Last week [or the week before] on my way home with a co-worker we were trying to navigate the city and highways. I pulled out my Palm and learned that wap.google.com(1) is a working website and one can download Google Maps for their palm! I was very happy with this because when we are on the road I can check the traffic. I also have a handy map so that I can’t “get lost” - as long as I know where I am. I also don’t have to ask for directions>.

This weekend, my wife and I met a friend for dinner and a movie, she wanted to double check directions back to her neck of the woods. In about 3 minutes I had our current location up and showed her how to get back to the Beltway. It was quite the empowering experience. Needless to say she was on her way and I was elated that my recent find worked to her advantage.

I am not sure how many different types of SmartPhones Google supports with their WAP(1) service, but I am glad they support the Treo!
