Shadow Dance

by Iron Wil on July 12th, 2007

I dance with my shadow again -
thinking of you . . .
wanting to pull you close,
and hold you near.

It’s an odd feeling
when your memory fills me;
pushing me down into depression,
swimmingly mad.

I smile & turn again
with my shadow -
dance floor swirls beneath myselves
. . . shadows changing shape.

I swim back up &
climb out of the churning waters;
shake myself off
and head on my way.

Walk down memory lane,
painful jaunt again -
It’s worth the dance with
my shadow – to see your smile again.
